BASILICA MINORE DEL STO. NIÑO - A historical visit
I edited my photos in Canva.
Today, sharing with you a historical landmark in our city, The Basilica Minore Del Sto. Niño De Cebu. The oldest Catholic Church in Cebu. We visited the church today and once again got amused by its beauty.
It's been a while since we visited the church. With its new rules and implementing a dress code to enter the sacred place. At first when it was introduce to us there were a lot who did not agree with the dress code. But for me, being the place as a sacred place we should try to respect and be disciplined. It was debated by a lot with different opinion. And I am happy that they push through the dress code, teaching discipline to my fellow Cebuanos.
When we arrived it didn't change much. It was still there, the fountain and fishpomd, where you throw a coin and make a wish. Just looking at the place I know it holds a lot of history and stories from centuries to centuries. Especially the bell, that was destroyed when a typhoon hit our city, it was devastating but it gave us hope and light that we will get through the hard times.
The mass hasn't started yet and gave us time to take pictures of the place and the building. We also went to the famous Magellans' Cross. Then, my daughter saw some balloons and started pointing at it which made us buy one from one of the elderly. It was a refreshing day for me. We visited this place a lot of time when I was young, a lot of memories was made in this sacred place and I was happy to be able to reminisce. And now, that I have my own family, we could make our own memories to look back in the future. There are a lot of souvenir shop you could go to buy your souvenirs.
The Basilica Minore Del Sto Niño De Cebu is located in Osmeña Blvd. You could take a public transportation and ask the driver if they will pass by The Basilica Minore Del Sto Niño De Cebu or search it in waze if you have your own transportation.
